We have been very excited to incorporate lots of local, organic vegetables into our products this growing season. At this point we have thousands of pounds of local vegetables preserved for distribution through the winter and into the spring. This way, our fermented food fans will be eating high-quality local vegetables long into the cold months. So far we have organic cabbage, carrots and beets from Northeast Ohio farms.
Teaming up with local purveyors and organic farmers means more investment and in earth-friendly farming methods and less investment in long-distance transportation costs. The result is a more positive social, environmental, and economic affect on our community.
We are glad to be part of a community that is conscious of the importance of supporting local farmers and strengthening our region’s food security.
Northeast Ohio is a beautiful place, and we aim to help keep it that way.
